Efficient, Evidence‑Based VRET
for Veteran‑Focused Care
The virtual reality exposure therapy (VRET) platform that PsyTechVR provides is designed specifically to meet all the unique needs and nuances of therapeutic treatment for veterans and military personnel.

There is a lot of evidence showing that a combination of time-proven therapeutic methods and VR simulations provides a far better result than relying on traditional methods and nothing else.

Both meta-analyses and randomized controlled trials have shown VR as a technology capable of achieving comparable or even superior results when it comes to PTSD symptom reduction and patients that suffer from comorbid depression. PsyTechVR manages to use this evidence base to assist veteran-focused clinics in different ways.
Efficient, Evidence‑Based VRET
for Veteran‑Focused Care
  • Enhanced Treatment Potency
VR can offer vivid visual stimuli, helping bypass the “imagination barrier” a lot of veterans tend to encounter during imaginal exposure. These stimuli help veterans process traumatic events more effectively when necessary, as they no longer need to imagine difficult scenes by themselves when the virtual environment can do it for them.
  • Safe & Customizable Clinical Control
Clinicians that use VRET see exactly what the patient sees during VR segments, with the ability to adjust any scenario in real-time using PsyTechVR’s MindGap AI capability. This way, exposure remains therapeutic without becoming overwhelming, with adjustable time of day, weather, traffic, and crowd density helping immensely to match specific trauma cues.
  • Superior Veteran Engagement
VR exposure therapy is widely considered to be less burdensome than most traditional therapy methods, which contributes to lower refusal rates and higher treatment retention. The immersive nature of the medium itself naturally makes each experience more engaging and less intimidating at the same time, encouraging active participation.
  • Logistical Efficiency
PsyTechVR also enables intensive healing capabilities whenever real-world exposure can be unsafe or otherwise impractical. Veterans would not have to leave the clinic to revisit public settings, accidents, or even combat environments. Therapy can even be provided remotely using telehealth, which does not require additional infrastructure on the patient side.
Research Evidence & Clinical Validation
Key clinical trials demonstrate the impressive effectiveness of the VR exposure therapy when it comes to PTSD treatment. The largest randomized controlled trial so far (n=192), has shown that a prolonged VR-assisted exposure can achieve an equivalent or better result when it comes to PTSD symptom reduction and comorbid depression.

Alternatively, a military study conducted at Camp Pendleton found out that 16 out of 20 Marines on average no longer met the basic PTSD criteria after going through less than 11 VR therapy sessions.

A randomized controlled trial conducted in Emory University (n=156) reports significant symptom reduction as a result of VR therapy, with effects lasting roughly 6-12 months.

Various physiological studies also show considerable reductions in startle responses and cortisol reactivity.

All these findings contribute greatly to PsyTechVR being recognized as not a theory, but a practical approach grounded in detailed, peer‑reviewed research.

PsyTechVR
VR exposure therapy system
A New Quality of VR Therapy
PsyTechVR is a comprehensive ecosystem created for convenient usage by veteran clinicians regardless of their technical background or lack thereof. The system in question easily transforms the entire treatment room into a precision-guided environment:

VR Headset (Client Presence) + Therapist LaunchPad (Control) = Guided VR Therapy
  • Learning Platform & Implementation Guides
Gain access to clinically informed training and workshops in order to become efficient with using VR in therapy at a certain comfort level. Practical and down-to-earth courses are necessary to ensure that therapists of any training level would be able to master VR exposure therapy protocols relatively quickly.
  • Clinician Launchpad
Acquire total control over the entire virtual experience of a patient, including both a view of what they see and also where they are looking. Adjust exposure variables with ease when necessary – be it weather, audience hostility, proximity, etc. MindGap AI helps greatly with this, helping maintain an optimal level of pressure that balances between being too mild and too intense.
  • Analytics Dashboard
Take advantage of data-driven dashboards in order to validate the effectiveness of the treatment or identify issues without relying on patient reports alone. PsyTechVR’s solution is built to meet strict regulations, including HIPAA, GDPR, and data privacy regulations.
MindGap AI
MindGap AI helps clinicians to custom-fit VR exposure therapy environments when necessary. It helps create graded hierarchies that are custom-fit to each veteran’s trauma, helping ensure that therapy remains gradual and helpful.

Clinicians can easily generate any setting with PsyTechVR – from local highways to specific checkpoints in Afghanistan – helping bridge the gap between real-world discovery and simply talking about the traumatic events.

With full oversight, many variables such as traffic, crowd density, or weather are easily adjustable in real-time in order to match the veteran’s SUDS – Subjective Units of Distress.

AI-generated visuals also help veterans who might struggle with overcoming the imagination barrier, or the ones that use emotional avoidance, helping them confront and process their memories a lot easier..
If traditional VR content can be compared to a pre-recorded DVD library, then MindGap AI is comparable with a fully equipped film studio at a clinician’s fingertips. There is no need to try and fit each patient into a generic scene if you can describe exactly what a specific patient needs to experience and the system can build it in record time.

Improve Veteran Care & Optimize Resources
  • Attract More Veteran Referrals
PsyTechVR is an evidence-based platform that helps differentiate your services in meaningful ways. Both general practitioners and veteran organizations are a lot more likely to refer patients if they know of a modern, engaging treatment method such as what PsyTechVR provides.
  • Reduce Costs & Increase Net Revenue
The usage of remote sessions and automation dramatically reduce the delivery costs of therapy as a whole, and also contribute to the increase of the number of veterans that can be served with current budget limitations.
  • Expand Access Without New Infrastructure
VR technology can be used to extend care toward veterans’ homes and outpatient units, no physical expansion or staff increase necessary. Telehealth delivery as an approach makes it possible for rural or limited-mobility veterans to still be able to receive treatment from anywhere.

"VR for PTSD with EMDR integration"

What do you like best about PsyTech VR?
What impressed me most is how real the environments feel. PsyTechVR lets me place clients in situations that would be almost impossible to recreate otherwise — whether that’s facing a truamatic memory or being in a calming space. This platform’s VR therapy is done step by step and under my control, which makes the process much safer.
The EMDR module is a real breakthrough. Normally, asking someone to recall traumatic memories in detail can be overwhelming. With VR, it becomes a lot more manageable. I can guide clients through their memories while they’re immersed in a scene that matches their needs, and the SafePlace AI tool is wonderful for creating a personalized calm spot when they need to ground themselves.
In practice, clients wear the headset and I run the usual EMDR phases — with eye movements, sounds, or taps — while they’re in a virtual environment. Sometimes it’s something related to their trauma, other times it’s a safe space. The combination makes the sessions more engaging and helps them process things in a very effective way.

"Transforming Clinical Practice Through Immersive, Personalized VR Therapy"

What do you like best about PsyTech VR?
PsyTech VR stands out for its blend of scientific rigor, innovation, and clinical practicality. As a functional psychotherapist, its extensive library of realistic exposure, relaxation, and mindfulness environments allows me to treat anxiety, phobias, and trauma in an immersive yet controlled manner. The intuitive interface and therapist dashboard make it easy to tailor sessions, while features like the SafePlace environment and the EMDR module enhance grounding, engagement, and overall therapeutic effectiveness.
Equally impressive is PsyTech VR’s commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement. The integration of AI-driven tools, responsiveness to clinical feedback, and a supportive team highlight a forward-thinking approach that keeps the platform at the forefront of therapeutic technology.

What do you dislike about PsyTech VR?
From a clinical standpoint, there is very little to critique about PsyTech VR—it is effective, intuitive, and consistently reliable in practice. Occasionally, when issues arise, the PsyTech team always addresses them promptly. Overall, PsyTech VR functions smoothly, requires minimal troubleshooting, and delivers a seamless therapeutic experience once the headset is on.

What problems is PsyTech VR solving and how is that benefiting you?
PsyTech VR solves the major challenge of delivering realistic, accessible, and controlled exposure therapy by recreating scenarios—such as flying, heights, or crowded spaces—that are difficult or impossible to simulate in a traditional clinic. Its AI-generated environments allow me to personalize each client’s triggers or relaxation needs, while features like gradual exposure, mindfulness tools, and a built-in “safe place” keep sessions both effective and secure. By removing practical barriers, enhancing realism, and boosting client engagement, PsyTech VR makes therapy more efficient, flexible, and impactful for both clinicians and clients.
