PsyTech VR at Emerge

Emerge Conference is the special place which connected more than 250 startups, 100 investors and overall 3000 participants to create one of the most promising startup events in the first half of 2022.

After several successful rounds of reviewing the project, PsyTech VR got a chance to visit the offline part in sunny Yerevan (Armenia). This exciting 2-days event gave us an opportunity to present our phobia therapy system at the stand (Expo format), as well as pitch the product from the scene in Startup Challenge.

The semi-finals of the Startup Challenge were a bit nervous because it was our first time pitching in front of 100+ people offline since the beginning of the Covid, but everything expectedly went great, and the audience warmly welcomed PsyTech VR. There were a couple of great ideas on improvement from the jury of the challenge, as well the pitch attracted the attention of several VCs in which we were interested.
Health Track
Our track was Health Care, and there were a few other projects that also participated in the semi-finals:
  • App for 3D models of organs for doctor’s presentations
  • Chatbot – mental improvements reminder
  • Mindfulness meditation app
  • AI chat-bot – virtual psychologist
As far as the PsyTech VR entered the beta-test phase, and there wasn’t initial traction, we’ve only got 2nd place and finals were held without Mental Health Technologies which was a bit sad! “The winner takes it all”, as the song sad, and it’s just a small sign for our startup that big wins will come soon!

Speaking about Expo which was the next day we presented our VR phobia therapy system to up to 60 people in 5 hours, got massive feedback, few clients and met potential partners.

Startups must visit events

Startups must visit events

The event was stunning!
Once we’ve heard from one investor that he doesn’t believe in such events as Emerge, if the startup has a good idea and initial traction there won’t be a problem to raise the round, and there is no need to waste time and money on conferences where you won’t get clients.

We’ve got another opinion - by visiting such great events as Emerge, the main aim of the startup must be networking and again networking! You use networking for finding the investor, searching for advisors, and even learning best practices in the industry. We are deeply convinced that visiting startup conferences is a veto on the road to becoming a successful company.

FAST Armenia

FAST Armenia

We were surprised to meet Ruben Oganesyan, Entrepreneurial Programs Lead at FAST (Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology) and get to know that Armenia is becoming one of the biggest IT hubs in the CIS region, and there are lots of ways how the government supports foreign founders in tax and legal when starting a company! Expanding the middle class is a way how countries to become such hubs and attract foreign capital to raise the economy, social sphere and also integrate IT solutions to make citizens' life more comfortable!
